At KOMET, every gesture matters. In our studio nestled in Aveyron, we’ve chosen to combine artistic precision with environmental responsibility.
Our certification with the Zero Waste label isn’t an achievement — it’s a direction. A commitment we renew every day in how we create, consume… and think about material.
🌿 A philosophy rooted in our craft
In the world of ceramics, waste often hides in plain sight: leftover slip poured out, glaze rinsed too freely, discarded pieces thrown away without thought.
At KOMET, we’ve implemented a rigorous approach to reduce, reuse, and recycle:
-
Clay scraps are reincorporated into new slip whenever clean and compatible.
-
Water is decanted, filtered, and reused, drastically limiting our consumption.
-
Rejected glazed pieces often become test tiles, samples, or even fèves.
-
We produce in small, made-to-order batches, avoiding overproduction and waste.
-
We use solar energy for our electric oven.
🔄 Circular craft, KOMET-style
The Zero Waste label highlights those who go beyond basic recycling. It values a circular mindset, where every raw material and resource is given a second life.
Our packaging is reusable or recyclable. Our pieces are built to last. And our entire process is designed to respect the pace of the gesture, not the logic of excess.
Zero Waste isn’t a constraint — it’s a driver of creativity. It pushes us to rethink, simplify, and refine.
✨ Creating less, but better
In a world overwhelmed with things, choosing to create less is a powerful stance. It means putting meaning into every piece.
At KOMET, we don’t create to fill shelves. We craft to serve a gesture, a space, an experience. And we believe that true luxury begins with respect — for the earth, the water, the energy, and the time that shape each object.
Thank you to the Aveyron CMA for this recognition!
