Ceramics is not the first of Aveyron's traditional crafts to spring to mind. Who remembers that 2000 years ago, Millau was the leading ceramic production site in the Roman Empire? Its strategic location, at the confluence of the Tarn and Dourbie rivers, enabled it to export its production throughout the Empire until the early 3rd century.
